Plano vs. Marcus Football

Due to forecast prolonged and heavy rain in the area for the night, the Plano at Marcus varsity football game, like many games in the DFW metroplex, had the kickoff time moved up to 5:30pm, and Plano’s band and drill team did not attend for a half-time performance to speed completion of the game. While a cold front blew in for the game, rain did not. The teams and fans went home dry, and Marcus notched a 53-7 win over Plano. Plano was the host for the 2022 varsity game between the two schools and weather was a major factor this year. First, the game didn’t start until 8:40p due to repeated safety delays due to lightning. Next, it had been raining almost all day before the game, and almost all the way through the game. Fumbles? Check. Slipped tackles? Check. Finally, the temp hovered around 53 degrees throughout, plus a wind chill. Marcus was able to take advantage of two slippery turnovers and ride the momentum changes to a win.
