November 11, 2016 was a triple witching day for Plano football:  Homecoming, Senior Night, and the biggest rivalry game of the year, the Plano East game.  By the end of the night Homecoming royalty were crowned, seniors and parents mingled on the field after the game, and varsity football bragging rights for a year go to Plano East.  The lead in the game went back and forth until time ran out for the Wildcats with the Panthers holding a one-point advantage. Plano football’s 2016 winning streak took a breather on Sept. 9 in Garland’s Homer B. Johnson Stadium when the Rowlett Eagles extended their winning streak by capitalizing on Wildcat turnovers.  With both football teams, drill teams and fans wearing maroon and white you had to search for extra clues to determine whether you were looking at a Wildcat or Eagle program participant or fan. On Thursday, Plano JV handed a heaping bowl of disappointment to the Hebron Hawks JV with a go-ahead FG as the game clock ran out.  Hebron’s varsity returned the favor Friday night with its go-ahead TD in OT to hand the Wildcats a district game loss.
