Plano’s football team traveled to Mesquite on August 25 for the annual pre-season scripted JV and varsity scrimmages against the Skeeters.  The results of Friday night’s play will factor into the final sorting of players between the varsity and JV teams, and the likely first season-game starters for each team.   Jersey changes within Plano teams and between JV & varsity teams are common, so you can’t always assume which player was wearing a certain number unless you received confirmation from a player or coach (or very confident parent). November 11, 2016 was a triple witching day for Plano football:  Homecoming, Senior Night, and the biggest rivalry game of the year, the Plano East game.  By the end of the night Homecoming royalty were crowned, seniors and parents mingled on the field after the game, and varsity football bragging rights for a year go to Plano East.  The lead in the game went back and forth until time ran out for the Wildcats with the Panthers holding a one-point advantage.
