There was no joy in Lady Wildcat softball-land at the end of the night after the Plano West Wolves swept both games on the Lady Wildcat’s turf on March 25, 2014.   The Lady Wildcats will seek revenge in the second district match on April 14. The first of two 2014 district match-ups between the Plano Lady Wildcats and Plano East Lady Panthers was held on East’s campus on March 18, and the schools split wins.  The Lady Wildcats JV team won a short game under the 15-run rule, and the Lady Panthers took the varsity game by one run. As announced earlier, I’ll post a short (2-4 minutes or so) video from each 2014 Plano varsity softball game and many JV games to give Plano softball fans a little of the sights and sounds in the dugout and sideline.  For varsity games Tori Seasor has graciously volunteered to run the vidcam, and in her absence several teammates have taken up the vidcam to keep the show rolling.  For JV games, Cristina Sucre and some teammates have provided a few great videos. The Plano Lady Wildcats hosted the first 2014 district softball games against McKinney Boyd on Tuesday March 11, with split results.  Plano JV earned a solid win, and Plan varsity came up a run short in the bottom of the 7th after the lead changed hands several times during the game.  Kudos to Alexis Santos for her over the fence home run! The Plano Lady Wildcats JV softball team played Prosper JV and Frisco Liberty JV on Saturday, March 8.  The Lady Wildcats  won both games.  The second game, against Liberty, was especially tough for both teams because of the cold, wind-driven intermittent rain that ultimately caused the cancellation of later tournament games.
