Lightning delays for a second week in a row?  Yep!  This time in Garland’s Homer B. Johnson Stadium.  And once again, the game started in a steady rain (which faded out by the end of the first quarter).  Rowlett and Plano eased into scoring, with neither team on the board until the second quarter.  Plano trailed until they tied 17-17 with 3:24 left in the 4th quarter, but Rowlett squeezed in another TD and closed out with a 24-17 win over the Wildcats. Plano JV hosted the 2018 game against Rowlett’s JV football team and the Wildcats got off to a great start with a TD and successful 2-point play to lead 8-0 at the end of the first quarter.  However, turnovers plagued the Wildcats and the Eagles won the game 21-8. The Eastwood Troopers traveled 650 miles from El Paso to play football in Clark Stadium against the Plano Wildcats on Sept. 7 and thanks to lightning delays they almost had a game that spanned two days.  As it was, the lightning ended, but the rain continued on-and-off through the night and the game, creating errors, opportunities, and some very interesting photos.  The game ended with Plano winning with 72, one of the highest scores in school history.  Eastwood lost with 48, a score that was higher than that of most of the teams in the DFW area that won that night.  The hearty fans forRead More →

Once again the Plano Wildcats football teams played the Hebron Hawks for their first game of the season, non-district games for JV and varsity.  For this 2018 season the Hawks swept the series, besting Plano JV 24-0, and varsity 28-27 in an exact reversal of how last season’s varsity match-up ended. The Mesquite Skeeters traveled to Plano’s Clark Stadium on Friday, Aug. 24 to spend several hours scrimmaging with the Plano Wildcats JV and varsity hopefuls as both teams used unfamiliar opponents to fine-tune their respective rosters for the regular football season that begins the last week of August. The Plano Wildcats Quarterback Club sponsored the annual Media Day Breakfast on Saturday morning, August 18 this year. It started with a tasty light breakfast, followed by introduction of coaches (welcome, new coaches Daniel Maddox and Kirk May!) and some words of wisdom from Head Coach Jaydon McCullough.  It ended with players and parents involved in a flurry of photography for formal team and individual photos, parent group photos, and informal photos of players with family and friends. The Plano Wildcats football team traveled to the LD Bell High School campus on June 16 for the 2018 Hurst 7 On 7 Football SQT. The Wildcats started cold against Marcus, down 20-7 at the half, but they developed a rhythm in the second half and prevailed 34-27.  In the second game, against Midlothian, the Wildcats started off cold again and couldn’t climb out of the halftime hole, ultimately losing 27-13.  The third pool game was against Frisco Centennial, and the Wildcats started out of the gate with a TD on the first throw and never looked back, winning this game 46-21. The Plano Lady Wildcats softball team won their way to the 2018 Texas UIL State 6A Semifinal Championship round of play, held June 1 in Austin, Texas, at the University of Texas McCombs Field.  The Lady Wildcats faced Humble Atascocita, who bested the Wildcats 4-2, and went on to become the 6A State Champions for this year.
