Plano football’s 2016 winning streak took a breather on Sept. 9 in Garland’s Homer B. Johnson Stadium when the Rowlett Eagles extended their winning streak by capitalizing on Wildcat turnovers.  With both football teams, drill teams and fans wearing maroon and white you had to search for extra clues to determine whether you were looking at a Wildcat or Eagle program participant or fan. In week 2 of the 2016 Texas High School football season the Plano Wildcats played the Irving MacArthur Cardinals, and both JV and varsity Wildcat teams put a “win” in the victory column. I didn’t make it to the JV game, but have it on good authority that it was a tight game until the final minutes of the 4th quarter when Plano fought across the goal line twice for the win. Plano Senior High football’s annual Media Day breakfast was held on August 13th to a packed house.  In a well-received change in format, when Head Coach Jaydon McCullough introduced his coaches, each coach in-turn introduced his family.  To player families new to the program it was a great way to meet the women and children that are the foundation of support for the coaches.  To regular followers of the program it was a great opportunity to see how much the coaches’ kids have grown since the end of last season.
