Plano Senior High hosted a 2022 season 7 On 7 Football State Qualifying Tournament on May 21, and the hosting school’s team was one of three that qualified for a berth in the Texas State 7 On 7 Championship Tournament in July. The Plano Wildcats won all four games played, but it took three OT periods to win the first game against a very tough Frisco Centennial team. Plano West was Home Team for the 2021 cross-town rivalry game against Plano for what would be the last game of the season for both teams. The Wildcats held the lead going into halftime, but an early 3rd Q fumble by Plano seemed to be a momentum changer as the Wolves quickly capitalized on the error for a TD and used the advantage to maintain and widen their lead to the end. The Plano Wildcats hosted the 2021 varsity football game against Flower Mound on Oct. 29, and the evening started with recognition of football, trainer and cheerleader seniors. At the half the Wildcats had a 15-14 lead, but that advantage slipped away in the third quarter as the Jaguars pulled away to win the game 39-28. The Plano Wildcats hosted the Lewisville Farmers for their 2021 varsity district game on Oct. 15, and the Farmers demonstrated why they hold first place in District 6-6A a little more than half way through the season. Plano and Rowlett varsity teams were able to play this year (after a 2020 cancellation) with Plano as the host. Plano jumped into the lead early and never looked back.
