The Plano Lady Wildcats varsity softball team began the 2024 Allen Softball Tournament on Feb. 22 at 9:00 a.m. with a timed 105-minute game against Van Alstyne. The first few innings the teams struggled to get on the board, but Van Alstyne broke through and grabbed a commanding lead until the last few minutes of the game, when Plano staged a two-out rally to rack up 7 runs, which included a homer by Zoey Forsvall. After an abruptly-ended short 2020 season with no formal ending, the 2021 Plano Wildcats Softball season awards event on May 25 was a welcome step back toward a normal season rhythm. While the traditional banquet was still off the plate (pun intended), a simple and sincere in-person gathering of players, parents and coaches was allowed on Plano’s campus. The Lewisville Lady Farmers softball teams hosted the first round of 2021 district games against the Plano Lady Wildcats on March 16, and the teams split wins, with Lewisville taking the JV game and Plano earning the varsity win.
