Plano hosted the second 2019 varsity district softball game against McKinney Boyd, and this time Boyd fielded a JV team (the first round of games didn’t include a JV game, at Boyd’s request). Wildcats JV easily bested the Broncos JV, but the varsity game was one for the record books yet again. The second 2019 meeting of the teams was hosted by McKinney, and the Plano Lady Wildcats swept the evening, though the lead in the varsity game changed dramatically in the top of the 7th inning when Plano scored 10 runs. The Plano East Lady Panthers hosted the first round of 2019 softball games with the Plano Lady Wildcats on March 13, in the middle of Plano ISD’s spring break. The teams had been dogged by cold and rain the week before, but by game time the sun was out and the field was in good condition. Plano East won the JV game, and the varsity game finished regulation tied 4-4. In the 8th inning Plano scored 3 and East couldn’t respond, sending the varsity Lady Wildcats home with the win. 2019 softball season district play for the Plano Lady Wildcats softball teams began with away games at Allen on a cold Wednesday night, postponed from an even colder evening the day before. Varsity benefited from the change, reversing traditional order of play and playing first, snagging some welcome warming sunshine. Plano won the varsity game, and Allen took the JV game. The Lady Jaguars played the Lady Wildcats on a Saturday night, a rare event brought about due to rescheduling around a wet, cold spring this year.  The Jaguars swept both JV and varsity play in the first match-up of this 2015 season.  Flower Mound will host the second match on April 2 (weather permitting).
