The first 2021 season district game for the Plano Wildcats Softball teams opened March 2 at home against Coppell. It was also Senior Night for Plano, honoring Casey Driver, Elizabeth Guevara, Darby Hickey, Mackenzie Ridley and Sadie Weiner. In what appears to be a shortened 2020 district softball season, Plano West hosted Plano softball on March 12 just as PISD announced all further sports activities would be suspended until further notice. Turning uncertainty into motivation, the varsity Lady Wildcats rallied from behind in the mid-innings of their game to take home a 12-6 win. The Plano Wildcats Softball Booster Club held the 2019 season awards banquet on Memorial Day and it was a nice conclusion to a fun season and post-season of play. The last game of the 2019 season for Lady Wildcats Softball JV and varsity teams were against the Prosper Lady Eagles, in Prosper. The Lady Eagles swept the evening, though their varsity team needed a 3-run rally in the bottom of the cold, wet 7th inning to take that game. Plano hosted the second 2019 varsity district softball game against McKinney Boyd, and this time Boyd fielded a JV team (the first round of games didn’t include a JV game, at Boyd’s request). Wildcats JV easily bested the Broncos JV, but the varsity game was one for the record books yet again.
