The Plano Lady Wildcats hosted the second round of 2022 district softball games against the Plano West Lady Wolves, with the Lady Wolves winning the JV game and, in 8 innings, the Lady Wildcats won the varsity game. With this win the Lady Wildcats earned PISD City Champ bragging rights. Also, in a last hurrah for Plano seniors, family members came onto the field before the varsity game for some warm-up throws and catching, and ceremonial first pitches. The Plano West Lady Wolves hosted the first round of 2022 district games with the Plano Wildcats on March 29, and weather continued to be a major factor for this season as incredibly strong, gusting wind blew down the 1st base line into the faces of anyone at the plate or looking toward the outfield.
