The first day pools have been announced for the 2015 Texas State 7 On 7 Football Championship Tournament. On the first day of play, on July 10, Plano will play Montwood (El Paso) at 1:00 p.m., Hendrickson (Pflugerville) at 3:00 p.m., and Cy Springs at 5:00 p.m.  Plano will be the Home team (dark jersey) in all three games, and take the snap to start the 2nd half. The Plano Wildcats varsity 7 On 7 football team participated in the Wylie 7 On 7 state qualifying tournament on Friday, June 12 as scheduled even though the team qualified for the state championship tournament the week earlier.  The team experimented a bit with player roles in the line up, and emphasized injury avoidance.    In pool play the Wildcats dropped the first game to Rockwall by one point, won the second game against Hebron by 11 points, then dropped the third game to Rowlett by one point. The Plano Wildcats were seeded against Denton Guyer for the 2014 6A Division II Bi-District playoff round, played on Nov. 15 at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.  Alas, Denton Guyer’s offense washed over  the Wildcats, and Denton Guyer advances to the next round. Oct. 30 was Senior Night for the Plano Wildcats football team, the last home game of the 2014 regular season.  Marcus came to Plano to try to edge into the post-season; Plano needed the win to clinch a playoff berth.  Marcus fumbled in the first set, Plano recovered and scored after a few plays, and Marcus never had momentum for the rest of the game.  Plano will advance to post-season play.
