May 5 and 6 were the dates for the 2017 Area Round of Texas 6A softball playoffs, with Plano Senior High going up against Waco Midway High, at Midlothian’s Heritage High School field. It was set up to be a best-of-three series and it took all three games plus three extra innings of that final game for a winner to advance.
