Lightning delays for a second week in a row? Yep! This time in Garland’s Homer B. Johnson Stadium. And once again, the game started in a steady rain (which faded out by the end of the first quarter). Rowlett and Plano eased into scoring, with neither team on the board until the second quarter. Plano trailed until they tied 17-17 with 3:24 left in the 4th quarter, but Rowlett squeezed in another TD and closed out with a 24-17 win over the Wildcats. Plano JV hosted the 2018 game against Rowlett’s JV football team and the Wildcats got off to a great start with a TD and successful 2-point play to lead 8-0 at the end of the first quarter. Plano football’s 2016 winning streak took a breather on Sept. 9 in Garland’s Homer B. Johnson Stadium when the Rowlett Eagles extended their winning streak by capitalizing on Wildcat turnovers. With both football teams, drill teams and fans wearing maroon and white you had to search for extra clues to determine whether you were looking at a Wildcat or Eagle program participant or fan.
