The Plano Wildcats football team qualified for the 2022 Texas UIL 6A football playoffs, and for the bi-district round of play drew Prosper, top seed in its district. As top seed at the bi-district level Prosper earned the right to host the game, and on Nov. 11 (a decidedly cold and very windy night) the teams tested each other in the first two quarters, but as the game wore on Prosper’s offense found their way to score and won the match 28-3, ending the football season for the Wildcats. Plano varsity football’s last game of the 2019 season was on the road, at Prosper’s new (and impressive) stadium. It was a cold November night and the Wildcats offense didn’t warm up until the second half, but by then the Eagles had built up enough of a lead and momentum to finish with a 58-27 home field win. The JV Wildcats hosted the final JV district game for the 2019 season on November 7 at Clark Stadium. It was a cold, blustery night with howling winds from the north, ill winds for the Wildcats as the Prosper Eagles shut them out 27-0. The last game of the season for Plano JV football was a cold, wet, late game at Prosper’s on-campus turf field.  The Wildcats built an early lead that held for most of the game, but the Eagles pulled ahead by 3 in the 4th quarter, and despite a spirited late Plano offensive drive, the Eagles got the win. 2018 marked the first year the Plano Wildcats and the Prosper Eagles would meet on a football field in regular season play.  Plano hosted this year’s varsity game, and the Eagles jumped to an early lead that the Wildcats couldn’t overcome despite their strong play in the 4th quarter.  With the loss, Plano’s 2018 football season ended.  Despite the loss for Plano, the evening was filled with pageantry and emotion as the game was also Plano’s Homecoming game and Senior Night.
