Due to pandemic scheduling the 2020 annual Plano vs. Plano West varsity football game was played later in the year than usual — on December 4. Knit hats, gloves, thick coats and blankets were the fashion in the stands, but the action was hot on the field. The Wildcats lead the first half, but the Wolves caught up by the 4th Q and with less than 2 min on the clock pulled ahead by a touchdown. The 2016 meeting between the JV Wildcats and JV Wolves football teams  ended with a nail-biting finish.  Coming from behind, the JV Wildcats scored a touchdown that put them one point away from a tie game with only a few seconds left on the clock.  A PAT would have finished the game with a tie.  A two-point play would give the Wildcats a win.  No guts, no glory, the Wildcats went for two with a run up the middle.  The Wolves defensive line held, and they won 27-26. For the 2014 game Plano West was the home team versus Plano, and the stands on both sides of the stadium were accented in pink for breast cancer awareness.  The Wildcats earned bragging rights for the year with a 17-14 win over the previously undefeated Wolves. John Clark Stadium was hoppin’ Friday night, Nov.1  It was Senior Night for West, the Home Team, and they brought in the feeder school bands for the halftime show.  But on the playing field it was the Wildcats who stole the show, and a playoff berth, with a 24-7 win.
