The Plano Wildcats hosted the 2021 JV football games against the Lake Highlands Wildcats on Sept. 9 at Plano’s Clark Stadium, and the schools split wins. In the JV-1 game, Lake Highlands came from behind in the second half to win 20-18, but in the JV-2 game Plano took an early lead and won decisively, 45-12. Plano Wildcats varsity football hosted the Lake Highlands Wildcats for their first home game for the 2020 season on Oct. 9, and it was also the designated Plano Homecoming game and Senior Night game. Due to pandemic mitigation protocols, most of the traditional pageantry was altered or bypassed. The game, however, was fast-paced and full of action, and Wildcats won. But not the brand of Wildcats that Plano fans were cheering for. On Oct. 8 the Plano Wildcats combined their JV1 & JV2 football teams and traveled to Richardson’s Berkner H.S. field to play Lake Highlands’ JV team. Starting under sunshine and ending in profound darkness (from a photographer’s perspective) Plano prevailed 20-14.
