Bowie hosted Plano’s last 2023 non-district game and what (all hope) will also be the last game played in triple-digit heat. Plano’s defense scored first, but the lead changed hands several times until the game was suspended with 5:43 remaining in the 4th Q due to lightening. Bowie was leading 34-29. Play resumed the next day at 11 a.m., with Plano receiving a kickoff resulting from a safety called against Bowie in the last play the preceding night. On another sweltering, triple-digit September evening the Plano Wildcats JV football teams hosted opponents in John Clark Stadium. The early game was the JV1 game between Plano and Arlington Bowie. Plano had the game well in hand throughout and won 44-0. For the second game of the evening Bowie couldn’t field a JV2 team, so cross-town rival Plano West JV2 stepped up to take on the JV2 Wildcats. The first Plano Wildcats varsity football home game for the 2022 season played out on Sept. 9 against Arlington Bowie. Throughout the evening the teams traded TD’s, staying evenly matched until the last 7 seconds of the game when a wild 60+ yard zig-zagging run by Bowie lead to a game-winning TD and a 34-28 win.
