For their first 2016 district match the Plano Wildcats traveled east to the Lady Panthers Field on Sat. March 12 for games rescheduled from a rain-out earlier in the week.  The Lady Wildcats must have taken advantage of the break because both JV and varsity Wildcats beat the Panthers handily. The first 2016 season district softball games between Plano West and Plano played just before the spring break storms opened up on March 7.  Under threat of thunderstorms, the varsity game played out first, and the teams battled until the bottom of the 10th inning when the Lady Wildcats finally put the game away.  The JV game played afterwards, and was called early due to lighting and rain. The 2015 season has come to an end for the Plano Lady Wildcats Softball teams, and the season was celebrated at the softball program banquet on May 31.  Ten seniors said their good-byes, and JV and varsity players were recognized for achievement locally and at the district level. The Plano Lady Wildcats JV softball team traveled to Wylie on April 11 for the rescheduled Wylie JV tournament and I was able to photograph their first two games.  The first was against Plano East JV (Plano win) and the second was against Flower Mound JV (late game rally by Plano foiled by the clock, FM won). Plano hosted the second meeting of the teams for the 2015 season and a rain delay paused the JV game by about 45 minutes.  Then, a see-saw varsity game went into the bottom of the 8th inning.  Altogether, the Lady Wildcats won both games, but everyone went home pretty late for a school night.
