In a year of many adjustments for Texas high school sports, the Plano Wildcats football team wasn’t able to conduct its traditional Maroon & White scrimmage in Clark Stadium in the spring. The alternative played out the morning of Sept. 12, 2020 on PSH’s campus athletic field as prospective JV and varsity squads conducted full-contact, full-tackle intra-team scrimmages Enthusiasm was high and positive among all the players, and from what I (photographing while masked and distanced) could tell no mercy was shown when it came to executing a play against an opposing teammate. McKinney Boyd JV hosted the 2019 game with Plano JV on Halloween, and by the 4th quarter it was so cold there was a cloud of exhaled breath between the offensive and defensive lines when they were set before the snap.
