August 13 was Plano Football’s 2022 Media Day, when team and individual photos are taken of the JV and varsity players for the season program. August 1 is the first day of UIL authorized Fall football practice for the 2022 season in Texas, and the Plano Wildcats feeder schools Clark and Vines 9th grade teams hit the fields on their respective campuses at 7:00 a.m. to mitigate the heat for practice. A day before their varsity counterparts are to play, the 9th grade feeder school teams to Plano Senior High and Flower Mound High School played at Plano’s Clark Central Field. Despite near record-setting wind gusts from the north, the teams passed and kicked as usual, and through a balanced combination of offensive plays and aggressive defense the Clark H.S. 9th grade Cougars won handily. The first week of 2021 season play for Vines H.S. and Clark H.S. 9th Grade football teams were against Byron Nelson teams at Plano’s Clark Field East. Football Media Day was back for 2021 for the Wildcats, and open to parents and friends of the program. This year team workouts and scrimmages overlapped with Team & Individual photography and HC Ford’s address to parents. In addition, Clark and Vines H.S. 9th grade teams joined the JV teams during their scrimmage and drill time slot, enhancing integration throughout the age groups and schools. The Plano Vines and Clark high schools 9th grade football teams squared off the afternoon of Nov. 25, 2020 at Clark East Field for a rare game in daylight. The Vines defense earned several interceptions, but Clark’s offense was steady and strong, earning the Cougars the win. Plano’s historic Williams Field was the venue for the 2020 9th grade football game between Plano cross-town rivals Clark and Williams high schools. Each school wore the colors of the varsity team they feed into (Plano, for Clark; Plano East, for Williams). Clark scored first and never looked back on the way to a 49-22 win. Flower Mound Marcus 9th graders traveled to John Clark Stadium on Oct. 29 to take on Clark High School’s 9th grade “A” and “B” teams.  Marcus won the “B” game, and the “A” teams tied after a very fast-paced, hard-hitting game.
