The Plano Lady Wildcats varsity team braved a cold, blustery Saturday to tune up against three non-district teams on Feb. 1.  Lovejoy in the early morning, Keller at noon and Marcus immediately after was the line-up, and the Lady Wildcats appeared to limber up and pick up speed and execution with each game. Last year year it was in SMU’s Gerald J. Ford Stadium, and this year it was in Grand Prairie’s Gopher Warrior Bowl.  But both years the Wildcats met the Skyline Raiders in the Bi-District round of Texas 5A football playoffs.  And once again Skyline was a very worthy opponent, once again advancing to the next playoff round. Nine Plano Wildcats athletes put pen to paper on November 13, 2013, NCAA Early Signing Day. Signees were: Ogo Obinabo (basketball, Arkansas State University); Kylie Long (volleyball, Wake Forest University); Haley Harrison (volleyball, University of North Florida); Aubrey Davis (volleyball, Northwestern State University); Tori Seasor (softball, University of Central Arkansas); Kyle Whieldon (swimming, Texas A&M University); Kendra Kieser (diving, University of Missouri); Connor Brady (baseball, Arkansas Tech University); and Austin Evans (basketball, Texas State University). The 2013 regular football season ended Friday night for the Plano Wildcats varsity with a 42-13 loss to the Allen Eagles.  But the Wildcats had already qualified for the playoffs, so their football season extends week-to-week. John Clark Stadium was hoppin’ Friday night, Nov.1  It was Senior Night for West, the Home Team, and they brought in the feeder school bands for the halftime show.  But on the playing field it was the Wildcats who stole the show, and a playoff berth, with a 24-7 win.
