The last game of the season for Plano JV football was a cold, wet, late game at Prosper’s on-campus turf field. The Wildcats built an early lead that held for most of the game, but the Eagles pulled ahead by 3 in the 4th quarter, and despite a spirited late Plano offensive drive, the Eagles got the win. After a several year break, the Jesuit Rangers are back in Plano’s UIL district, and the re-boot kicked off on Oct. 25 with the Wildcats JV football team traveling south on the Tollway to play on Jesuit’s campus field – Ranger Stadium. It was a close game throughout, and featured more passing by the Wildcats JV than I think I’ve seen in quite a while. In the end, the JV Rangers captured the win 24-21. Yes, it was disappointing that the 2018 JV football game between McKinney and Plano was hosted by McKinney at it’s auxiliary field near the high school, and not one of McKinney’s (now two) stadiums, but visitors can’t be choosers. All the scoring in this game happened in the second quarter, with mirroring TD’s and 2-point conversions that left the game in a 8-8 tie at the closing buzzer. Originally scheduled to be played on Sept. 20, the Wildcats v. Eagles JV football game was rescheduled to Oct. 4 to allow the varsity teams to play on the 20th to avoid rain delays (I guess that kinda worked). Playing on the newly-carpeted Clark West Field, the JV Wildcats showed solid play, but a turnover and Allen’s relentless passing game gave the Eagles the win. Plano JV hosted the 2018 game against Rowlett’s JV football team and the Wildcats got off to a great start with a TD and successful 2-point play to lead 8-0 at the end of the first quarter. However, turnovers plagued the Wildcats and the Eagles won the game 21-8. To view Plano JV fans & Faces photos, please CLICK HERE. To view Plan JV action from the game, please CLICK HERE.Read More →
Once again the Plano Wildcats football teams played the Hebron Hawks for their first game of the season, non-district games for JV and varsity. For this 2018 season the Hawks swept the series, besting Plano JV 24-0, and varsity 28-27 in an exact reversal of how last season’s varsity match-up ended. The Plano Wildcats Quarterback Club sponsored the annual Media Day Breakfast on Saturday morning, August 18 this year. It started with a tasty light breakfast, followed by introduction of coaches (welcome, new coaches Daniel Maddox and Kirk May!) and some words of wisdom from Head Coach Jaydon McCullough. It ended with players and parents involved in a flurry of photography for formal team and individual photos, parent group photos, and informal photos of players with family and friends. The informal player & family photos, breakfast snapshots, and player Moms and Dads group photos I captured can be viewed in this gallery: https://thadfenton.zenfolio.com/f185805769?customize=3 Sorry guys, theRead More →
