The Plano Wildcats Quarterback Club hosted the annual Media Day breakfast on August 19, and the morning event featured a good turnout, good food, good fellowship, introductions and instructions from the QB Club officers, and a concise and heartfelt speech from Head Coach Jaydon McCullough.  Following the program, the players suited up for their official team and individual photos.  Afterward, I enjoyed taking some casual photos of some coaches and their families, a few photos of parents with their player son, and some improvised posed photos of some players. The 2016 meeting between the JV Wildcats and JV Wolves football teams  ended with a nail-biting finish.  Coming from behind, the JV Wildcats scored a touchdown that put them one point away from a tie game with only a few seconds left on the clock.  A PAT would have finished the game with a tie.  A two-point play would give the Wildcats a win.  No guts, no glory, the Wildcats went for two with a run up the middle.  The Wolves defensive line held, and they won 27-26. Plano Senior High football’s annual Media Day breakfast was held on August 13th to a packed house.  In a well-received change in format, when Head Coach Jaydon McCullough introduced his coaches, each coach in-turn introduced his family.  To player families new to the program it was a great way to meet the women and children that are the foundation of support for the coaches.  To regular followers of the program it was a great opportunity to see how much the coaches’ kids have grown since the end of last season. Plano’s JV sealed a dramatic come-from-behind 22-21 win over Hebron JV on Sept. 10 at Plano’s Clark Stadium when sophomore kicker #97 Drew Christian put the ball through the uprights for a FG as the clock ran out.  Plano had been behind the entire game, and through persistence the Wildcats pulled the rug out from under the Hawks at the last possible moment.
