The Plano Wildcats Football coaching staff and QB Club hosted the first Plano Football Helmet Striping With Dads event on Aug. 13 on Plano Senior’s campus. The Plano Wildcats Football coaches and QB Club conducted a Football 101 class for Wildcat Football moms and other interested women the evening of Aug.12 in the athletic facilities on the Plano Senior High campus. Participants enjoyed breakout sessions on offense, defense, and medical trainer protocols, and then toured the weight room and indoor practice field. The Plano Wildcats football program held its first official 2021 season practice the morning of Aug. 9, with JV (in maroon uniforms) taking the field first, followed by varsity about an hour later. After warmups, varsity (in white uniforms) conducted about a dozen quick action plays, then combined with the JV squad for combined skill group instruction. The Plano Wildcats football program held its annual Spring Maroon & White scrimmage games at Clark Stadium on May 19. The first 2021 season district game for the Plano Wildcats Softball teams opened March 2 at home against Coppell. It was also Senior Night for Plano, honoring Casey Driver, Elizabeth Guevara, Darby Hickey, Mackenzie Ridley and Sadie Weiner. With the 2020 varsity match-up cancelled due to quarantining, the Plano v. Plano East football rivalry played out between the JV1 & JV2 teams for each school at Kimbrough Stadium on Nov. 19. It was the best of times and the worst of times for each school that night as the Wildcats and Panthers each enjoyed a lopsided win and a lopsided loss.
