To begin the second day of the 2024 Allen Varsity Softball Tournament the Plano Lady Wildcats faced Bells (from the Sherman, TX vicinity) at 9:00 a.m. Bells scored first and built a 6-2 lead until Wildcat senior Rachel Newby sparked a rally that narrowed Bells’ lead, 6-5. The Plano Lady Wildcats varsity softball team began the 2024 Allen Softball Tournament on Feb. 22 at 9:00 a.m. with a timed 105-minute game against Van Alstyne. The first few innings the teams struggled to get on the board, but Van Alstyne broke through and grabbed a commanding lead until the last few minutes of the game, when Plano staged a two-out rally to rack up 7 runs, which included a homer by Zoey Forsvall. The Plano Wildcats Softball teams, coaches and families converged at the Canyon Creek Country Club in Richardson on May 11 to enjoy a fine meal and celebrate accomplishments over the course of the ’22-’23 school year. Lewisville hosted the second round of 2023 district play against the Plano Lady Wildcats on April 11, and it was varsity-only because Lewisville wasn’t able to field a JV team this week. That’s OK, because there were two games worth of action rolled into the one varsity game. In the early innings the Lady Farmers took the lead and established a modest cushion of runs. The first 2023 season match between the Plano and Hebron softball teams was at Hebron’s Lady Hawks Field in March. Plano won the JV game, and the varsity game went to extra innings until Plano won that game. The second round of games between the teams was at Plano Lady Wildcats Field on April 6, and again Plano won the JV game. However, the varsity game was Hebron’s from the start.
