As announced earlier, I’ll post a short (2-4 minutes or so) video from each 2014 Plano varsity softball game and many JV games to give Plano softball fans a little of the sights and sounds in the dugout and sideline.  For varsity games Tori Seasor has graciously volunteered to run the vidcam, and in her absence several teammates have taken up the vidcam to keep the show rolling.  For JV games, Cristina Sucre and some teammates have provided a few great videos. The Plano Lady Wildcats hosted the first 2014 district softball games against McKinney Boyd on Tuesday March 11, with split results.  Plano JV earned a solid win, and Plan varsity came up a run short in the bottom of the 7th after the lead changed hands several times during the game.  Kudos to Alexis Santos for her over the fence home run! The Plano Lady Wildcats began 2014 district play against McKinney on March 7 and swept both JV and varsity games.  Ericka Coffey was the winning pitcher for JV, and Adrienne Edwards won for varsity. The Plano Lady Wildcats varsity softball team finished its participation in the three-day Wylie Softball Tournament on Sat. March 1 with a game against South Grand Prairie in the early morning and against Grand Prairie in the late afternoon.  Both were Lady Wildcats victories by a wide margin.  Dani O’Brien pitched the first game, and Adrienne Edwards pitched the second. Rescheduled from the prior sub-freezing and sleeting date, the Mesquite Horn vs. Plano Senior High varsity softball game on Feb. 12 produced three entries for the Wildcats Softball record book: the first varsity win of the 2014 season; the first game with new Varsity Assistant Coach Amy Lam; and the first win for new Varsity Head Coach Molly Pipak.   Tied at three-all going into the bottom of the 7th, Jade Miller set the stage for the go-ahead with a triple.  Next up, Kali Bolter banged a line drive that brought in Miller and closed the game with a Wildcats 4-3 win.  Congratulations Coach Pipak,Read More →

The Lady Wildcats varsity softball team braved another frigid Saturday on Feb. 8 to scrimmage in advance of games that go on the record.  McKinney North was the first opponent, and they faced Adrienne Edwards on the mound for Plano.  Dani O’Brien pitched for the Wildcats in the second scrimmage, against Wylie.  The Lady Wildcats bats were on fire against Wylie; Alexis Santos and Kali Bolter each had an out-of-the park home run. The Plano Lady Wildcats varsity team braved a cold, blustery Saturday to tune up against three non-district teams on Feb. 1.  Lovejoy in the early morning, Keller at noon and Marcus immediately after was the line-up, and the Lady Wildcats appeared to limber up and pick up speed and execution with each game.
