The Lady Jaguars played the Lady Wildcats on a Saturday night, a rare event brought about due to rescheduling around a wet, cold spring this year.  The Jaguars swept both JV and varsity play in the first match-up of this 2015 season.  Flower Mound will host the second match on April 2 (weather permitting). The first 2015 season district JV and varsity softball games between Plano and Allen were played in Allen on March 12.  Allen took the JV game, and Plano won the varsity game 14-3 after 5 innings. The Plano Lady Wildcats varsity softball team hosted a round-robin pre-district tournament on Saturday, Feb. 7 and played games against Lovejoy, Rockwall Heath, and Bishop Lynch.  The first game, at 9 a.m. against Lovejoy, revealed that the 2015 varsity Lady Wildcats are not morning people.  But by noon Plano woke up and demonstrated skills they hope will take them into the post-season again this year. The Plano Wildcats annual spring Maroon & White football scrimmage was held May 15 in John Clark Stadium.  Under the best weather conditions in years, the coaching staff put the players through the paces with the game clock turned off.  The verdict?  I’d say there were too many variables in play to reach any conclusions.  But if you take a look at the action photos you’ll see hints of great performance you may see in the fall. The Lady Wildcats won the first game of the Regional Quarter Finals the the evening before, but on Saturday May 10 they weren’t able to carry over the momentum.  The Plano West Lady Wolves captured the second game, and after only a thirty minute break between games the Lady Wolves carried the day and the series by winning the third game. For the 2014 softball Region II Quarterfinals the Plano Lady Wildcats are matched against district rivals Plano West Lady Wolves.  The first of the best-of-three game series was played Friday night 5-9-14 at Plano East’s Lady Panthers Field.  The Lady Wildcats, as the home team, took the first game 3-1. In the Area Round of the 2014 Texas UIL softball playoffs the Plano Lady Wildcats drew Mesquite Horn as the opponent in a best-of-three competition.  The first game was played at Plano’s home field on May 1, and the second at Mesquite Horn’s on May 2.  Plano swept the series and earned the weekend off.
