The Plano Lady Wildcats softball team swept Denton Guyer in a best-of-three series that featured Friday night’s second game turning into a Saturday game, ending at 12:53 a.m.  Because of a rain delay for a prior game on the field in Prosper, that second game didn’t start until 9:17 p.m., and a rain delay in the bottom of the first inning put the teams on track for finishing the game past curfew. For their first 2016 district match the Plano Wildcats traveled east to the Lady Panthers Field on Sat. March 12 for games rescheduled from a rain-out earlier in the week.  The Lady Wildcats must have taken advantage of the break because both JV and varsity Wildcats beat the Panthers handily. The first 2016 season district softball games between Plano West and Plano played just before the spring break storms opened up on March 7.  Under threat of thunderstorms, the varsity game played out first, and the teams battled until the bottom of the 10th inning when the Lady Wildcats finally put the game away.  The JV game played afterwards, and was called early due to lighting and rain. The 2015 season has come to an end for the Plano Lady Wildcats Softball teams, and the season was celebrated at the softball program banquet on May 31.  Ten seniors said their good-byes, and JV and varsity players were recognized for achievement locally and at the district level.
