The Plano Lady Wildcats boarded a bus to Abilene to play Odessa Permian for the Regional Semi-Final round of the 2018 Texas UIL softball playoffs.  Playing a best-of-three series, the teams are playing at Abilene Christian University’s field.  The first game, started on May 17, but due to lightning and rain delays it ended on May 18.  Plano won in the bottom of the 8th inning, pulling out from behind for a 10-9 finish. The Bi-District round of 2018 Texas UIL softball playoffs are underway, and the Plano Lady Wildcats’ first opponent is Flower Mound Marcus.  Plano and Marcus will play a best-of-three series on April 26, 27 & 28. The last regular 2018 season games for Plano and Plano East softball teams were played at the Lady Wildcats Field on April 20, and the Lady Wildcats swept the Lady Panthers JV and varsity teams. It was also Senior Night for Plano softball, and the five senior players (Lindsay Edwards, Emily Knight, Drew Manders, Bronte Rhoden & Aubrie Rhodes) and senior manager (Terranay Tate) were recognized just before the start of the varsity game. Last week the Plano Lady Wildcats varsity softball team finished a rain-delay game against Allen on Thursday, then hosted McKinney Boyd’s varsity the next night.  The Lady Wildcats won each game, and with the win against Boyd they clinched the 2018 6-6A District Championship.  There were no JV games played against either team.
