The Plano Wildcats varsity 7 On 7 football team participated in the Wylie 7 On 7 state qualifying tournament on Friday, June 12 as scheduled even though the team qualified for the state championship tournament the week earlier.  The team experimented a bit with player roles in the line up, and emphasized injury avoidance.    In pool play the Wildcats dropped the first game to Rockwall by one point, won the second game against Hebron by 11 points, then dropped the third game to Rowlett by one point. The Plano Wildcats varsity 7 On 7 football team qualified to compete in the the 2015 Texas State 7 On 7 Football Championship Tournament at the Plano West SQT on June 6. The Wildcats were undefeated in pool play, besting McKinney 33-14, Denison 33-32, and Frisco Liberty 48-27. In the semi-final game the Wildcats poured it on in the second half to beat Plano East 40-16 and qualify for state.  Plano West was the other finalist, and in lieu of playing the teams turned to best-of-three Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine the SQT champion.  The Wolves won the bragging rights this year. The 2015 season has come to an end for the Plano Lady Wildcats Softball teams, and the season was celebrated at the softball program banquet on May 31.  Ten seniors said their good-byes, and JV and varsity players were recognized for achievement locally and at the district level. Hebron High School is hosting the field for the 2015 Bi-District round softball playoff games between Plano and Keller.  The first game in the best-of-three series was played Friday evening May 1st, and the Lady Wildcats were the visitors.  Keller took the first game 7-1.  The series continues Saturday May 2 at Hebron High School. The final games of the 2015 season district play for the Lady Wildcats were rained out two times, and on the third try on April 27 (varsity only; the JV game was already cancelled) rain and three lightning delays caused the coaches to call it a “no-game.” Yes, it rained, and it shows in some of the fans & faces photos HERE, and in some of the action shots HERE.
