Allen hosted the first 2025 varsity softball game against the Plano Wildcats on Feb. 18 in an afternoon game scheduled to get ahead of scheduled bad weather. Well, they got ahead of freezing temps, but not ahead of very cold blowing drizzle. With their home field still under construction, the Plano Wildcats softball teams are using the Plano West softball field as their Home field, and that was the location for the first 2025 district games between Plano and McKinney on Feb. 11. Despite the very cold conditions, the Wildcats JV and varsity pitchers were able to maintain control and guide both Wildcats teams to victory that evening. Plano ISD’s Clark Field East was the venue for Plano Sports Authority’s 2024 5th/6th grade tackle football championship game on Nov. 16, featuring the Texas Hunt Squad Alpha D6 vs. Hurricanes D5. Alpha D6 went to halftime ahead 7-0, but the Hurricanes went full-throttle in the second half to win 13-7. For their last 2024 regular season game the Plano Wildcats varsity football team went north to Prosper ISD Children’s Health Stadium to play the Prosper Rock Hill Blue Hawks for the first time ever. Down 17-7 at the half, the Wildcats rallied in the second half to take the lead, but a late TD by the Blue Hawks put them back on top by three, a lead they held at the end for a 24-21 win. The Plano Wildcats hosted the 2024 game with Prosper Rock Hill’s JV team on Halloween, and to give everyone a chance to get home sooner Plano combined its JV1 and JV2 football teams to take on Rock Hill’s single JV team in a single JV-centric game for Plano. The Wildcats combined JV team demonstrated skill on both sides of the ball in a 28-0 win. The oldest Plano cross-town sports rivalry continued as the Plano Wildcats football team hosted the Plano East Panthers in John Clark Stadium on Oct. 25. Since both teams had defeated Plano West this year, the unofficial City Championship would be the reward of the evening’s winner, and those bragging rights were earned by the Wildcats 34-24. The game was also the last home game for the Wildcats, so football, trainer, cheer and ROTC seniors were honored on the field ahead of the game. The 2024 JV football games between Plano and Plano East were played in Tom Kimbrough Stadium in Murphy, Plano East’s “Home” stadium. This year the Plano Wildcats swept the JV series with a JV2 42-0 win and a JV1 28-12 win. The Plano Wildcats varsity football team traveled to McKinney ISD stadium to to play the McKinney Boyd Broncos on Oct. 18. It was was a game of see-saw scoring, tied at halftime 21-all, but Plano capitalized on a muffed punt return in the second half to build a two-TD buffer that withstood a late 4th quarter scoring drive by the Broncos. On Oct. 17 the Plano Wildcats Football JV2 team hosted Highland Park’s JV team and Plano’s JV1 team hosted McKinney Boyd’s JV team at John Clark Stadium.
