Plano and Rock Hill softball teams played their first round of 2026 district games on March 17 at Plano’s new field. Despite abundant sunshine for the JV game (which Plano won), by the varsity game the cold wind in the dark made it feel colder than many February games. To make conditions worse for the varsity game, the teams were tied by the 7th inning, pushing the game later into the night. By the bottom of the 9th Plano broke the tie in dramatic fashion, overcoming an interim lead by Rock Hill and snatching victory from the cold jaws of defeat.
