The Plano Lady Wildcats hosted the first 2026 district softball game against McKinney Boyd on March 10, with concerns about predicted incoming storms. As a hedge against a rain-out the order of play was changed, with varsity teams to play first at 5 p.m. and the JV game after conclusion of the varsity game.
The lead of the varsity game see-sawed, and it looked like it was going to go into extra innings until Plano punched out of the tie in the bottom of the 7th for a 7-6 win. The JV game went to the Lady Broncos, 10-6.
