Although Plano was the home team for the 2025 game against Odessa Permian, the game was selected to be the 2025 Jerry Jones Whataburger Classic game, and was played in The Ford Center In Frisco, the Dallas Cowboys official training stadium. In 2024 in Odessa, Permian won 13-10, but this year Plano played for revenge and won 27-17, taking home a bejeweled helmet trophy that sported the Cowboys blue star on one side and the Whataburger orange logo on the other. No doubt it will dazzle the trophy case on Plano’s campus when classes resume after the Labor Day holiday.
