Plano’s football team traveled to Mesquite on August 25 for the annual pre-season scripted JV and varsity scrimmages against the Skeeters. The results of Friday night’s play will factor into the final sorting of players between the varsity and JV teams, and the likely first season-game starters for each team. Jersey changes within Plano teams and between JV & varsity teams are common, so you can’t always assume which player was wearing a certain number unless you received confirmation from a player or coach (or very confident parent).

The 2017 season starts next week with non-district JV & varsity games against Hebron, whose varsity football team is receiving a lot of pre-season praise from the Dallas Morning News sports writers. Regardless of the year, the Hebron Hawks have always been worthy opponents for the Wildcats.
